Photoshop Tutorial – Post Card Text Effect

I love this effect. It reminds me of a gift shop postcard and its simplicity will surprise you.

  1. Find an image
  2. Add some text
  3. Adjust the layer FILL slider (not the layer opacity slider) to 0 – opacity
  4. Add a bevel effect (or some other layer style).
  5. Wha-Lah!

Great tutorial!! Very cool effect, I was wondering if I can do this on Photoshop Elements 5.0? I’m not sure if it has a fill opacity.

I really like the tutorial, but how do I finish? I really want to make my very own post card, but I got stuck! What about the size that usually the print need to print the card? I want to learn more.
    Thanks

    Hi Tania,

Most postcards are about 4 X 6 inches. You can download some great Photoshop templates at http://www.48hourprint.com/photoshop-templates.html that will help you layout your card.
